Guizhou Equipment Manufacturing Polytechnic (Zhuang Yuan or GEMP for short), is a state-funded vocational college that evolved from Guizhou Machinery Industry School, one of the national key secondary vocational schools and national-level demonstration schools of secondary vocational education. which was founded in 1981. Now, GEMP is the Provincial High-Level Higher Vocational College (known as Double High-Level Project) and owns 2 provincial Double High-Level program clusters. Throughout its history, GEMP has remained dedicated to fostering both moral integrity and professional competence in its students.
The College operates across two campuses - Nanming, Guiyang and Qingzhen, covering over 500 mu (approximately 82.37 acres). It employs more than 445 faculty and staff members and serves over 10,000 full-time students. GEMP comprises 5 academic units, including the School of Mechanical Engineering, School of Electric Engineering, School of Automobile Engineering, School of Architectural Engineering, and School of Economic Management.
GEMP upholds its motto "Moral Excellence, Skill Proficiency; Academic Endeavor, Cultivated Action." and has consistently advanced its "1+3+N" industry-academia collaboration model, establishing a stable framework where each discipline (or discipline cluster) maintains in-depth partnerships with 3+ leading enterprises while collectively supporting N small-to-medium enterprises, including sound collaborations with 626 Fortune 500 corporations and regional leading industry covering all disciplines, establishing 46 off-campus practice training hub at enterprises including BYD Guiyang Base, Geely Automobile Manufacturing, Chery Wanda Guizhou Bus Company, CATL, and Guizhou Aerospace Electrical Appliance.
