As one of the backbone departments of the college, the Department of Mechanical Engineering focuses on the field of mechanical manufacturing and automation and continuously deepens the connotation construction of professional groups. It has been approved as a provincial-level new "Double High Plan" construction professional group consecutively in 2022 and 2025. The department has built 2 national-level training platforms: the National Vocational Education Numerical Control Processing Technology Training Base and the National-level Vocational Education Demonstration Virtual Simulation Training Base; 3 provincial-level practical carriers: Guizhou Equipment Digital Military-Civilian Integration Development Public Service Platform, Guizhou Vocational Education Intelligent Manufacturing High-level Industry-Education Integration Training Base, and Aerospace Supporting Industry Military-Civilian Integration Productive Industry-Education Integration Training Base; 21 on-campus training bases such as the Basic Training Engineering Center, Numerical Control Processing Engineering Center, and Intelligent Manufacturing Engineering Center; and 48 off-campus training bases, forming a practical teaching pattern of "laying a foundation through on-campus training and strengthening skills through off-campus practice".
