At the outset of the ceremony, all attendees watched the GEMP’S promotional video which comprehensively showcased the college’s profound educational heritage, distinctive focus on equipment manufacturing, unique campus culture, and remarkable achievements in industry-education integration. For the international students who had traveled from afar, this provided an intuitive glimpse into the college’s strengths, helped them quickly acclimate to the campus environment, and further strengthened their sense of identity and belonging.
On behalf of all faculty and students President Liu Qu extended the warmest welcome to the first batch of international students. In his speech, he elaborated on the GEMP’S educational philosophy, developmental advantages, and academic accomplishments, fully demonstrating the GEMP’S strong commitment to and full support for international education. President Liu also put forward three sincere expectations for the international students during their studies and life at GEMP.
First, he hoped the students would remain focused and committed to becoming diligent learners of the Chinese language. He encouraged them to cherish this hard-won opportunity to study abroad, study diligently, think critically, and communicate bravely. By engaging in immersive learning, he hope the students to experience the unique charm of the Chinese language and appreciate the profound heritage of China’s fine traditional culture.
Second, he hoped the students would engage sincerely and take the initiative to serve as bridges for cultural exchange. He encouraged the students to integrate actively into campus life, participate in various cultural, sports, and practical activities organized by the school, and share their experiences, insights, and wonderful campus moments in China with their families and friends back home. He also hoped the students to become the cultural ex-changers of China-Kyrgyzstan friendship, contributing to the continuous deepening of friendly exchanges between the two countries.
Third, he hoped the students would always prioritize safety and take full responsibility for their own personal and property safety. He urged them to strictly abide by Chinese laws, regulations, and the college’s rules and disciplines, remain vigilant about personal and property safety, and have a safe and joyful stay in China.
When Jiang Yujiao, the international student counselor, delivered a speech on behalf of the teaching team, she stated that all faculty members would adhere to rigorous academic standards and a student-centered service philosophy, offering comprehensive, multi-dimensional support to help international students adjust to the rhythm of academic learning and campus life. The team will attentively resolve all academic and daily challenges that students may encounter, and stand by them throughout their journey of skills development and cross-cultural communication, supporting them to realize their personal values and achieve meaningful growth and progress.
